The Hebei North College Gymnasium is the basic project of the 2022 Winter Olympics. It is the first Olympic bid fund project in Hebei Province and the first dome sports stadium in Hebei Province. Hebei North College Gymnasium is a Class A gymnasium and has the ability to undertake national comprehensive sports games and international-level individual events. Part of the ice court can meet ice hockey competitions, short track speed skating, figure skating and other types of ice projects. The museum will form the complete infrastructure conditions for winter sports together with the original snow sports venues in Zhangjiakou, serve the Winter Olympics, and serve the needs of the masses on ice.
Hebei North University Gymnasium has a total construction area of 26,300 square meters, a reinforced concrete frame structure, and a chord-supported dome structure on the roof, which was constructed by the Hebei Construction Group. The project started construction in March 2015.
Also as China is preparing to receive international people from different countries to come and attend the Olympics, the native of the country are now emphersizing on English classes from the age of three to old people of 50 years old and above are learning English language all over China, especially in the Northern part of China. The main reason is to minimize language barrier between the foreigners and the native Chinese people, also the reason is to ensure proper presentation of the Olympic games throughout China.
Example of programs that are facilitating and emphersizing English study include the Zhangjiakou volunteer program, which not only takes place in Zhangjiakou city but also they travel through other different cities in China to teach people English and the program helps the foreigners who find struggle on learning Chinese language, hence being beneficial to all sides and for only one specific goal which is the Olympics in China.
