Hi, my name is Elizabeth and I’m from Australia. I am in my second year of medical school studying at Hebei North University. The experience so far has been exhilarating.
When I arrived in china I was really scared because I didn’t know the language nor did I know anyone here but the university ensured I was taken care for upon my arrival.
After I had reclaimed my baggage and had passed the security check, I was pleased to see that I was being received by a university official. They had arranged for my safe travel to the city of Zhangjiakou.
Once I arrived the process was delightfully a breeze. I paid my fees and got my class schedule and within two days I was prepared for lectures.
The first year focused on Chinese and I saw it as an opportunity to not only learn the language but practice it on the natives in my day-to-day routine.
I have started with my medical course and even though it is intense the lecturers depict the lessons in a manner that ensures students gain full understanding.
The university closes twice a year for the summer and winter vacation. During this time students either go back to their home country or they travel.
I can positively say that hebei north university has had an impact on my educational career that I will carry with me even after my time here is over.
